Chronicles of the Determined Divorcee — As I navigate the unreliable tides of public transportation and a new job, I find myself ruinating on the idea of power.
Yesterday was a dreamy day:
All four of my kids were in school and I had the day off work. My home was quiet and my phone wasn’t ringing or chiming. I sipped on a cup of coffee as I started watching the first season of The Sopranos.
It was my first time watching the mob drama and I became hooked. After days spent dealing with visitors at the museum where I work, zoning out on a show filled with characters dealing with moral issues miles away from my life was just the thing I needed.
My life has transformed since I started my new job six weeks ago. I enjoy my job and I work in a lovely part of SF in a fun and colorful museum. It’s not easy, as I am on my feet for hours and some of the visitors are less than friendly, but I am so grateful for it.
I am learning so much about myself, working, and life in general because of this life change. I take public transportation and my commute is long, but after a couple years of the pandemic, it’s fascinating to be surrounded by so many people all the time. I am slowly becoming used to it, but it’s exhausting sometimes.
