Poetry — I am a thunderclap, electricity incarnate
electricity shivers along my tongue
tickling my teeth with little fuzzy currents
everything i lick turns to opportunities
like midas’ touch lining my insides with gold
i am a thunderclap
energy and water colliding into a crisp moment
like lips meeting in a shocking kiss
fire turned sharp
i light up the sky in a maelstrom
light emanating from within
my curves silhouetted like the moon
people’s bad intentions turn to smoke
and roll off me into the abyss of night
or the uncertain depths of the deepest ocean
strength is my currency and stars are my change
every door i open leads me to another
an endless maze of new possibilities
i am velvet lightning
a change-maker
ready to venture first
unafraid to make the first move
willing to wait for what feels good
i value myself
and i know my worth
i am the sphinx guarding my own inner sanctum
if you answer me right
i just might let you in
