Chronicles of the Determined Divorcee — The nights are long, the mornings cold and dark, and your strength might be starting to dip on these cold days, but I’ve got some ideas that may help bring a little light to your night.

It has been a cold Winter in my little nest of California and we’ve entered a spell of rain supposed to last about a week. Gloomy days with grumpy grey clouds hanging over have contributed to my feelings of sadness, especially after a break up that I had to initiate right after my birthday last month.

***No regrets over my decision, it’s just disappointing that the person ended up ruining my birthday. I suppose the Universe’s gift to me this year was the knowledge that this person wasn’t the one for me!***

A bright spot in all this are my kids, and as a single mom of four with full custody I am grateful I get to see them every day.

However, I have found myself wondering more than once about what I can do with them during these long dark days! As a single parent, it falls on me to make sure they are entertained and kept busy. But I don’t want to hear, oh let them be bored, because four bored kids can drive anyone crazy!

Ideas:

  • Slime: My oldest daughter introduced me to the wonders of fancy…
